WHITEN YOUR SMILE WITH DENTESTETIK

Whitening teeth is a cosmetic procedure applied to eliminate tooth discoloration. Laser whitening procedures in our clinic are applied in 45 mins - 1 hr sessions and upon request, patients are provided with custom-made whitening kits to continue applications at home.

HOW MANY TYPES OF WHITENING PROCEDURES ARE THERE?

Household Type Tooth Whitening;

After taking oral measurements, custom-made whitening plaques are prepared. A certain amount of whitening gel is then added to this plaque. This plaque is to be used at for a duration of at least 4-6 hrs in one day. This process lasts for approximately 10-15 days.

Office Type Tooth Whitening;

Is the tooth whitening process applied at the Clinic? It ensures effective whitening in as little as an hour.

Root Canal Whitening;

Applied to discolored teeth following root canal treatment. The filling in the tooth is removed and a whitening gel is applied to the cavity. Then, the tooth is covered with a temporary filling. Sessions are repeated until the desired color is obtained.

Combined Tooth Whitening;

A combination of the household type and office type tooth whitening procedures. After application at the office or Clinic, 2-3 days of sessions at home are carried out in addition to further improvement.

DANGERS OF TOOTH WHITENING or SIDE EFFECTS

Apart from dead teeth, tooth whitening procedures do cause at least a little amount of tooth sensitivity. This is a normal and expected side effect. In order to prevent or reduce this side effect, a fluorine application can be done for the patient prior to the whitening procedure, or the patient can use sensitivity-decreasing toothpaste starting from 2 weeks prior to the procedure. Tooth sensitivity is usually expected to cease within 24-48 hrs following the procedure.

ARE THE RESULTS OF TOOTH WHITENING PERMANENT?

Following the whitening procedure, the color will eventually start to fade. The length of time depends on the patient’s intake of colored liquids (tea, coffee, wine, coke) and smoking habits. The Whiteness of teeth lasts from 6 months to a year. If further supported with 1 or 2 sessions in the first 4-6 months, the whitening will become permanent.
