Aesthetic dentistry is a branch of dentistry that includes all the applications to achieve a better smile in the mouth.
Smile Design
Aesthetics has an important place in dentistry, as in many areas of our lives. Because the teeth are in the direct field of view. In order for the person to smile freely, the harmony of the gingival (gum and surrounding) elements, teeth and lips is important.
Functional features have also increased with the ever-evolving technology in aesthetic dentistry. Thus, with the design we call Smile Design, a personalized ideal smile is created.

White Fill ( Composite )
Since oral and dental health is not given much importance, many people have cavities in their mouths. Since my teeth are not brushed incorrectly or not brushed at all, the bacteria formed by the food residues settle on the tooth surfaces over time and cause decay. The important thing is to take precautions before these bruises get too deep. This can only be achieved by checking with a dentist every 6 months.
If the teeth have started to decay, it is necessary to clean the tooth from caries and fill it without losing the tooth completely. The applied filling types are Metal fillings, Composite fillings and Ceramic fillings.
Metal fillers are a very strong type of filler that can be used for many years. However, with today’s technology, white filling or ceramic filling, which is more aesthetic, is preferred. It is a type of filling that can be used as strong and easily as metal filling, even in anterior or posterior molars. Composite filling fits the tooth very well and cannot be distinguished from your natural tooth because it is tooth-colored. Even if the teeth are not caries, composite fillings are used to correct minor aesthetic defects for the anterior teeth.
Ceramic fillings are an alternative aesthetic application used in cases where the tooth decay rate is too high and cannot be saved with a filling. In the same way, after the caries is cleaned, the tooth is measured and the porcelain filling is prepared with the CAD CAM system in the laboratory and placed in the patient’s mouth in the second session.
Porcelain Laminated
Laminated veneer is porcelain leaflets with a thickness of 0.3 millimeters applied for aesthetic purposes. These porcelain laminates can be adjusted in the desired color and length. In porcelain laminate application, the surface of the tooth is abraded very thinly, and in some cases it is applied without the need for any abrasion. With this treatment, a small amount of crowding in the teeth, drug discoloration on the tooth surface and yellowed teeth are made whiter permanently.
The only disadvantage of laminated coating is that it is not suitable for every mouth structure and closing shape. If the person has a habit of teeth grinding, there may be breakage in the laminates. In order to prevent this, after the end of the treatment, a night plate is made for our patient to use at night so that there is no breakage due to teeth grinding.
Zirconium Coating
In aesthetic dentistry, zirconium dental treatment gives satisfactory results. Zirconium tooth is a metal-free, gingival-compatible and high light transmittance aesthetic dental coating material. After the teeth are cut, their measurements are taken and their three-dimensional infrastructure is taken by scanning them in a computer environment. After rehearsal for the infrastructure, the porcelains prepared in the laboratory become suitable for wearing in the patient’s mouth.
Since the zirconium crown has an aesthetic structure, it is difficult to distinguish it from your natural teeth. Another advantage is that it is compatible with the gums and is anti-allergic. It is lighter than metal-supported porcelain and does not smell in the mouth.
Empress Dental Veneers
Empress coatings are a personalized application prepared with very sensitive devices in a computer environment without human touch. Empress dental veneer creates very little material loss from the tooth surface. Reinforced and compressed porcelain is used instead of zirconium or metal-supported porcelain. Since it is made with reinforced glass called Empress, its light transmittance is excellent. In metal-supported coatings, the color of the metal appears as a darkening on the gingiva. However, this is not possible in aesthetic works such as empress. It is compatible with the gums and is anti-allergic.
Gum Aesthetics
Teeth have an important position in our facial area during speech and communication. The appearance, arrangement and structure of the teeth give some clues about ourselves, even if we don’t want it. When we smile, we call pink aesthetics when our gums and teeth are in harmony.
When the lips are raised too much during smiling, the appearance of the gums (gummy smile) makes our smile aesthetically incompatible. The first thing to check is whether the gums are healthy or not. If the person has an unhealthy gingiva, it is first treated and then the gingiva is adjusted. Gingival leveling is done with a small laser procedure and an ideal smile is achieved.
Some gums lose their rose-pink color and turn black, which is common in dark-skinned smokers. It is possible to treat, and the color is opened with laser. If the cigarette is not smoked, the rose pink color will continue.
